TESTING

What testing method is used to identify COVID-19?

Through RT-PCR RHB Laboratories is able to detect SARS-CoV-2 directly from patients' upper respiratory samples. As one of the most widely used laboratory methods for detecting COVID-19, this test is an important component in diagnosing patients and trying to stop the spread.

COLLECTING

How should specimens be collected for testing?

In order to provide the most accurate results, all samples are to be collected according to the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and any additional state-issued instructions.

RHB Laboratories will provide oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swab specimen collection kits in addition to any necessary instructions for the proper packaging and transport of the specimens to our facility.

REPORTING

How are test results reported?

Results can be provided via fax, RHB Laboratories' online portal, or hand-delivered to the clinic. Test results are reported as "Detected," "Not Detected," or "Indeterminate." In addition, RHB Laboratories will report all COVID-19 test results to the health department of the state in which the patient resides.
